Ernesto 5am Update

Just a short update at this time. Below is an updated map with tropical storm warnings in blue and tropical storm watches in yellow.  Ernesto’s current position is marked by the red ring, and the white dots are the hurricane hunter fixes over the last few hours. Also included are the recon observations for this flight up to the minute. Note that Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines are now out of the tropical storm warning, but tropical storm conditions are still possible for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Ernesto is a bit weaker this morning with warming cloud tops and a deteriorating inner core. Winds are down to 45mph and pressure down to 1004mb. I expect this is only a small lull in activity and new thunderstorms will burst in a few hours. No intensification expected during the next 24 hours. The next update can be expected before noon.
